My name is Maribel Candil Boyd and I was born and raised in beautiful Colombia. 

I have a degree in Finance and Foreign Business from Barranquilla’s San Martin University.  My studies and growth during that time helped me realize I wanted to see the world.  In order to travel to all the places I’d dreamed of visiting, among other things, I needed to learn English.  After 20 years of travel and experiences, 16 of which living in the wonderful United States, I find myself an experienced and professional leader in the development of commercial, managerial, and administrative functions.  Aside from my real estate career, I’ve spent the last five years as a Team Leader for a U.S. Government contracting firm.

As many of you have personally experienced, my journey has a fantastic rollercoaster of ups and downs.  However, I’ve found those ups and downs to be the very inspiration which drives me each day, ready to journey forward towards my goals and dreams.  This grounded approach and independent freedom equally allows me to stay focused yet also the freedom to leap at new challenges knowing I’ll land feet first.  In fact, only a few years ago I discovered the terrifying and exhilarating joy of becoming a first-time homeowner. 

For me and everyone else, becoming a first-time homeowner is one life’s few truly altering decisions; and personally, it marked my before and after.  This decision didn’t come as easily to some as others.  I took the time to learn just how owning property would lead to personal profit and self-satisfaction.  I paid attention to key concepts of when to sell (high market) and when to buy (low market), how equity plays such a vital role, and how to plan future investments.  I also took the time to get to know my realtor.  After only four years of happy home ownership, I found myself looking forward to hiring that same realtor to help me sell my home.  Due to that time and effort on my part (and in the hands of a trusted and experienced realtor), I can say I truly enjoyed the experience while capitalizing on a healthy and rewarding investment. 

In fact, the sincere positivity experienced through the purchase and sale of my first home became the dream I’m living today.  Through that experience I began to see myself, not only in real estate, but as a self-employed realtor.  So, in 2020 I passed the California Realtor’s exam and received my license.
